About Mbuyazi Publishing
At Mbuyazi Publishing, our mission is to preserve and promote the use of African mother tongues. In a world dominated by Eurocentric perspectives, African languages are often confined to domestic settings, lacking presence in commercial, scientific, or entertainment contexts. Our motto, “Think it! Say it! Do it! – all in your mother tongue,” inspires everyone to integrate African languages into all areas of life.
Founded by the Mbuyazi family, we began with isiZulu and Shona, the languages spoken in our home. Today, Mbuyazi Publishing offers a diverse range of resources aimed at promoting African languages. Our materials include children’s books, pre-reader flashcards, and advanced titles for teens and adults.
Dedicated to excellence in African literature, Mbuyazi Publishing champions the cause of African languages, with a current focus on isiZulu, Swahili, Shona, and Sepedi. We plan to expand our offerings to include other languages such as Tswana, Yoruba, and Chichewa. By publishing multiple titles simultaneously, we are committed to fostering and investing in African mother tongues.
