The Giant’s Castle
In the Kwazulu-Natal Midland’s plains, young Nkati lives with her grandmother who send her one day to collect firewood on her own. Nkati must pass the giant’s cave without waking him. Hindered by the heavy load, Nkati is late to pass by the cave alerting the giant to her presence.
Terrified, Nkati remembers an old tale: if a beautiful girl sings the age-old lullaby at dusk, the giant will sleep for 100 years.
Risking her life, Nkati sings, mesmerizing the giant and saving herself and her grandmother from his wrath. Now, the giant slumbers atop his castle, awaiting the century’s end to rise again.
